TheCinemaSource.com has posted a new interview with Amanda.

Interview By: Joe Drew
Only in the early stages of her career, Amanda Righetti seems to be hitting all the right notes. From her role in the hit series, The Mentalist on CBS, to starring in the new Friday the 13th, Righetti is a name we’re going to be hearing more often. In Friday the 13th she plays ‘Whitney’ the missing sister of ‘Clay,’ played by Supernatural star Jared Padalecki. Clay’s search for his sister leads him to the hallowed ground of Camp Crystal Lake. There he meets ‘Jenna’ (Danielle Panabaker) and a group of stereotypical college students, who, by the conventions of the genre are conspicuously placed for Jason to toy with like a cat. All the while our heroes struggle to survive as they elude the cold calculation of Jason’s machete. Read the rest of this entry »

Interviews & Articles

There are so many new interviews popping up, here are a selected few with a bunch of excerpts. Click on the links to read the full articles.

// Complex – March 2009
When you were on The O.C., you played a stripper. What was the training for that like?
Well, I grew up in Vegas, and I’ve taken pole-dancing classes, just for fun. And growing up in the scene and sneaking into strip clubs—

// MoviesOnline.ca – Amanda Righetti & Danielle Panabaker Interview, Friday the 13th
MoviesOnline: How hard is it for you to do a TV show and try to do movies at the same time? Is it hard to fit in a movie in a week or hiatus? Were you on a big break when you did this?
AMANDA: Personally, I was going back and forth between L.A. and Austin in the beginning, because we were shooting the pilot for The Mentalist. So I was kind of back and forth, and then once The Mentalist wrapped I was in Austin for good, and we were all sort of waiting to find out what was happening at May sweeps.

// MediaBlvd – A Visit To The Set of ‘The Mentalist’
MediaBlvd> Bruno, since the pilot, as you’ve watched your actors become their characters, over the course of the season, what adjustments have you made?
Bruno> It’s hard to be specific. It’s really just a question of getting to know people, and not necessarily going, “Oh, they are good at this. They are good at that.” After a while, you see them and hear their voices in your head, when you are writing the character, so you’ve got their sense of timing. For instance, Tim is a master of the deadpan, as good as I’ve ever seen, so we feed into that. Amanda has a certain enigmatic quality about her, so we use that. Owain is a great light comedian with looks and glances. Everyone has something about them, that is ineffable, that you try to internalize.

// NewsChief.com – Making ‘Friday the 13th’ was a bruising experience for actress
“I’m still dealing with injuries from it,” Righetti says, referring to her role in the remake of the classic slasher film “Friday the 13th,” in theaters Friday. “I’m dealing with knee injuries. My neck hurts from falling so much.”

// 3News.co.nz – Celebrities share their Valentines Day plans
Amanda Righetti, one of the young stars of the new ‘Friday the 13th’ movie, has more relaxing plans.
“I actually have rented a sort of massage express tent with a tandem massage and I’m planning on doing dinner,” Righetti said.

// Horror.com – Amanda Righetti – On-Set Interview
Q: Were you surprised by the end of the script?
AR: I think it will surprise audiences. But then again, until it’s all put together, who knows? When I did read the script, it was pretty much to the end, “Oh, what’s going to happen?” You’re sort of flying by the seat of your pants. Hopefully, that conveys itself on film as well.

TV Guide Interview

INCLUDES SPOILERS
The Mentalist’s Amanda Righetti Preps for Love Triangle

You might remember Amanda Righetti as Hailey on The O.C. or as Jenna on Fox’s promising but ultimately short-lived Reunion. Now, on CBS’ The Mentalist (Tuesdays, 9 pm/ET), Righetti has settled into the still-evolving role of Grace Van Pelt, a rookie investigator whose strong morals and relative inexperience are a conflicting combination. “It’s always going to be two steps forward and two steps back for Grace,” she says. TVGuide.com asked her what’s up with her character’s on-again, off-again flirtation with Rigsby (hint: it’s off again), why she ends up hand in hand with Jane (!) and how she practiced her scream for that new Friday the 13th remake. On the Set of Friday the 13th

Filed Under (Articles) by Janine at 11:53 am

(…) Here is where the crew of Platinum Dunes’ Friday the 13th is camped out witnessing Jason Voorhees menace stars Jared Padalecki (full interview here) and Amanda Righetti (Return to House on Haunted Hill). Lights direct our attention to an overturned bus lying on its side. Tendrils have crawled into its underbelly; its yellow exterior faded. At the head of this rusted old beast – that currently shows no signs of activity outside, but we can still hear the screaming – sits director Marcus Nispel, reuniting with Platinum Dunes after visiting another horror icon, Leatherface, for 2003’s The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. He prefers to stay to the orchestrated madness of the scene he’s currently shooting. Nearby, sitting amongst the cast and crew chairs are producers Brad Fuller and Andrew Form. On the monitors before them we finally get to see what’s happening inside the bus.

Here’s our screamer. Righetti. She crawls along the earth floor/bus wall. Then a figure cuts through the darkness of a hole behind her. It’s Jason. Unmistakable. Complimented by Daniel Pearl’s beautiful photography coated in moonlight and shadows. Jason’s never looked better. (…)

K-Ville news

Filed Under (Articles, Projects) by Janine at 1:17 pm

Exclusive: O.C. Babe Returns to Fox!Someone over at Fox really likes Amanda Righetti. The onetime O.C. starlet ? who followed up her stint in Newport Beach with back-to-back gigs on Fox’s North Shore and Reunion ? is joining the cast of the net’s new drama series K-Ville. She’ll be playing the recurring role of A.J., a potential love interest for Cole Hauser. As we’ll learn in the Sept. 24 episode, the two characters share a common link. To say more than that would ruin the big twist at the end of the Sept. 17 premiere. And as you know, I don’t ruin. Spoil, yes. Ruin, no. (source)
