When you were on The O.C., you played a stripper. What was the training for that like?
Well, I grew up in Vegas, and I’ve taken pole-dancing classes, just for fun. And growing up in the scene and sneaking into strip clubs—

MoviesOnline: How hard is it for you to do a TV show and try to do movies at the same time? Is it hard to fit in a movie in a week or hiatus? Were you on a big break when you did this?
AMANDA: Personally, I was going back and forth between L.A. and Austin in the beginning, because we were shooting the pilot for The Mentalist. So I was kind of back and forth, and then once The Mentalist wrapped I was in Austin for good, and we were all sort of waiting to find out what was happening at May sweeps.

MediaBlvd> Bruno, since the pilot, as you’ve watched your actors become their characters, over the course of the season, what adjustments have you made?
Bruno> It’s hard to be specific. It’s really just a question of getting to know people, and not necessarily going, “Oh, they are good at this. They are good at that.” After a while, you see them and hear their voices in your head, when you are writing the character, so you’ve got their sense of timing. For instance, Tim is a master of the deadpan, as good as I’ve ever seen, so we feed into that. Amanda has a certain enigmatic quality about her, so we use that. Owain is a great light comedian with looks and glances. Everyone has something about them, that is ineffable, that you try to internalize.

Q: Were you surprised by the end of the script?
AR: I think it will surprise audiences. But then again, until it’s all put together, who knows? When I did read the script, it was pretty much to the end, “Oh, what’s going to happen?” You’re sort of flying by the seat of your pants. Hopefully, that conveys itself on film as well.
